  • Sequential I. Photo copy any 2-3 written pages (try not to make them consecutively.) Write three-five statements from those pages and have student/child place them in order. He/she will need to go back and look at the pages to see which one comes first, second, third, forth, and so on.
  • Sequential I. Photo copy 3-4 illustrations. Student/child can use the book as a guide and place illustrations in order. In addition, he/she may write their own interpretations of the story underneath the pictures using sequential order words such as: first, then, next, and last.
  • Genre. Describe what type of genre Monster Mas Vs. The Test is? Support your answer with details from the story.
  • Compare/Contrast. Using a Venn Diagram, or a double bubble map compare/contrast the following characters from the story.
    Ms. Honey & Ms. Moore
    Missy & Monster Mas
    In addition, student/child can expand on the Venn diagram by writing paragraphs. For example, Ms. Honey and Ms. Moore have a few similar qualities. Also, Ms. Honey and Ms. Moore have a few differences as teachers.
  • Draw Conclusions: Draw a conclusion about Missy and her origin? How do you think she is part of Monster Mas’ family?
    What can you conclude about the Thark? Why can only Massimo and few other characters be aware of it?
    Why isn’t Ranger Rutherford scared of the Thark?
    Why did the Thark disapper?
  • Making Inferences:
    What can you infer about the third grade?
    What can you infer about Ms. Honey’s Personality?
    What can you infer from this statement on page 32,

  • Supporting Details. This section is used to support main ideas in a paragraph, excerpts on the test, and stories.
